Traffic in Summerville is a serious issue that is receiving considerable discussion. The outdated and dangerously narrow streets, along with reckless speeding create an unsafe environment for travelers and pedestrians alike. Residents are requesting change.

While Traffic Engineer John Ussry is working diligently on concepts to improve the design and traffic flow of both Walton Way and Central Avenue, these solutions take considerable time and immediate steps must be taken to ensure safety - particularly for the young children who walk the sidewalks everyday on their way to school.

Below is a form to join a petition that will be sent to Sheriff Richard Roundtree asking him to allocate resources to increase traffic patrols; specifically on Walton Way (from Highland Avenue to Heard Avenue) as well as Central Avenue (from Monte Sano to Troupe Street).
